I would like to be remembered as someone who was not afraid to do what she
wanted to do,
and as someone who took risks along the way in order to achieve her
goals. - Sally Ride
I created a web application using Python (Django) that allows users to create and maintain festival reviews. Scraped data using Beautiful Soup for users to look for upcoming festivals in Seattle, as well as displayed current weather across US cities based on user input which retrieved real-time data from API requests.
I contributed to a C# (ASP.NET MVC) web application that facilitates and automates the ability for admin users to add, update, and search theater performances by implementing features that allow the creation of calendar events and filter productions on dropdown selections. I utilized Entity Framework Code First and SQL in the execution of this project.
I have experienced using HTML and CSS features, as well as frameworks like Bootstrap to stylize websites. I appreciative the art of design used on the front-end.
The more I work with JavaScript and jQuery, the more I see that it's a must know language. This OOP language is powerful for adding dynamic features to static pages.
My experience using Microsoft TSQL taught me the importance of data collection and the power of data analyzation. I enjoyed designing a database schema and creating stored procedures.
Python has become one of my favorite languages. It was fun builting GUI's with Tkinter. As I learned more about modules and frameworks such as Django, I see why this language is so popular.
C# furthered my understanding of Object Oriented Programming. I learned the power of MVC and how to use it with ADO.NET and Microsoft's Entity Framework for web development.
